Everyday is a new day. Everyday is a good day to begin anew.

April 8, 2014

Here’s a good reminder that everyday is a new day. Everyday is a good day to begin anew.

I have been looking for ways, for the loveliest of words, to describe how special mornings are when spent at home. Thankfully, last night, I was reminded by this song– Morning Has Broken by Yusuf Islam. And it seems fitting, from the first phrase to blackbirds speaking, singing for praise! That’s how I feel when I hear the red maya birds sing of the loveliness of mornings! Another moment where I can say, “Exactly.”

Here are the words to his song–

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain’s new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new day
