Today’s (Gospel) reminds us to have courage. Whether it be courage through action or courage through prayer.
To have courage does not necessarily mean to brave the storm, the angry flashes of lightning and thunder.
Sometimes, to have courage is simply to keep calm and pray.
In a world of today filled with thoughts of tomorrow and yesterday,
Lord grant us the courage to believe in Your power of now.
In a world of fast moving clocks and technology,
Lord grant us the courage to take some time and smell the roses.
In a world of busy streets and traffic jams,
Lord grant us the courage to walk and make footprints in the sand.
In a world filled with evening shifts and Friday night lights,
Lord grant us the courage to take time and gaze at the stars in the night sky.
We pray for the grace to know when to move forward, to stay, and to take a step back.
To have the courage to keep calm and pray. Amen.
